Our first time riding at SX Worx Supercross track in Sheffield for their first ever electric kids bike session didn’t disappoint!!!
We went in unsure what the track would be like to ride and decided to start off with his Gas Gas MC E5 electric bike set on mode 3 (out of 6) so that he would have less chance of going too fast/whiskey throttle etc but as it turned out mode 3 was absolutely perfect for him so we’ll be using that again next time too!

For those who usually ride motocross tracks these Supercross tracks are much more prone to getting you some ‘air’ - as I’ve heard a few people saying ‘if you haven’t got a picture like this you haven’t been to SX Worx yet’ as a caption to a picture of their biker kid getting some epic air time! If your kiddo isn’t quite ready for jumping… or maybe likes to jump but could do with working on their landing *cough* like Harley *cough* then lowering the top speed of their bike would help prevent a crash for them!
With these electric bikes you can change the speed either with the flick of a button (on the underneath of both the Revvi 12 and Revvi 16 inch bikes) on the throttle of the Stacyc 12 and 16 in bikes or on the control panel of the KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas electric bikes… if you’re riding petrol you can restrict these with the clutch settings or a restrictor kit but this may need to be done before you get there or you’ll miss out on fun riding time!!
Not that we’re pro electric bikes or anything… 😝 Petrol lovers don’t get me wrong, I (Harleys mum) also love the smell and the sound but Harley is a bit scared of the noise and doesn’t like how the throttle response is on them… maybe when he’s older he’ll give a petrol bike another go but while he's still so young we don't want to scare him or put him off so we've stuck to the electric bikes for the time being :)
