The national assembly has affirmed the recommendation to consolidate all bursary and government funding to pave the way for free education. Speaking before parliamentarians, the State Department for Higher Learning lamented over the falsification of information, stating that 80% of students who applied for funding indicated that they were raised by single mothers while 70% claimed that their parents earn less than 6,000 shillings. They have now recommended that such fabrications should warrant penalties.
