Efficient 5-axis laser drilling for aerospace and industrial gas turbines (IGT) - The LASERTEC PowerDrill series from DMG MORI sets standards!
With the models of the LASERTEC PowerDrill series, DMG MORI offers a fast and efficient solution for the production of cooling air holes in turbine components from the aerospace and industrial gas turbine (IGT) sectors. The PowerShape machine version enables the machining of shaped hole geometries for conical exit funnels (shaped holes).
5-axis laser drilling of turbine components such as turbine guide vanes / blades and combustors has become state of the art over the years. Cooling air holes are created by means of percussive drilling, trepanning or drilling on the fly (drilling while the workpiece is rotating).
DMG MORI's machine portfolio includes the LASERTEC 50 PowerDrill, LASERTEC 100 PowerDrill and LASERTEC 160 PowerDrill. Thus, the appropriate PowerDrill / PowerShape machine concept is available for every component size. Depending on the application, the LASERTEC PowerDrill machines are available with 9 kW to 23 kW fiber laser. State-of-the- art features such as variable collimation, shoot-through detection, capacitive distance sensors or optional tool changers complete the machine concepts.
Special PowerDrill software tools enable convenient programming and processing of complex components.
Remark 0:40 min.: Here, the travel path of the LASERTEC 160 PowerDrill is shown, which is 600 mm more than the LASERTEC 100 PowerDrill. The absolute dimensions of the machine width are 3,737 mm for the LASERTEC 100 (left) compared to 4,337 mm for the LASERTEC 160 version. The footprint is 12.7 m² compared to 14.7 m².
