3 / Brittany and Normandy. France. Part 3

Brittany is unique for many reasons. This is a peninsular, distinctive France, and where everything is a little different. The beautiful nature of the coast, unique monuments of ancient history, mysterious legends associated with these places, the culture of local residents, who, by the way, consider themselves to be the descendants of the Celts.
Conditionally Brittany can be divided into two parts: external and internal. And throughout its territory, from the Emerald Coast to the Coast of Pink Granite, you will not find a single similar place! Rocks and cliffs, velvet beaches, green plains and medieval towns with cosy streets - where you can find a corner for every taste.
The rich history of the peninsula is closely linked to the history of the country, as it is the oldest region in France. In the 5th century, these lands were conquered by the Celts, and after another three millennia, people began to actively populate Brittany. Here you can find monuments of the megalithic era, which are older than all of France. During the prosperity of Byzantium, Brittany was ranked among the Roman provinces, and only in 1532 it officially became French territory.
Many legends are associated with these lands, which have long been heard by many: about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, about Merlin and the search for the Holy Grail, the tales of Bluebeard, Little Red Riding Hood, the story of Tristan and Isolde. Perhaps this is the most mystical and poetic region of France. If you are looking for inspiration and have already visited other parts of this country, Brittany is waiting for you!
