In this work we present an autonomous waypoint mission executed with the MiniHawk UAV, a rapidly-prototyped small Tricopter/Fixed-Wing Vertical Take-Off and Landing UAV with solar-recharge-capability. The MiniHawk leverages its hybrid flight envelope to accomplish both VTOL & Fixed-Wing flight, while successfully executing flight mode transitions at the beginning and the end of the mission. The entire field test sequence is performed autonomously with no remote operator intervention.
