Literal Optical illusions
What are literal illusions?
Optical illusions simply trick our brains into seeing things, which may, or may not be real.
There are 3 types of optical illusions, which include.
Literal Illusions.
Physiological Illusions.
and Cognitive Illusions.
In this video, we will examine literal optical illusions.
A literal illusion, is an image, created by smaller images, that are in no way related to the larger, overall image created.
For example,
Let's take a normal image of the sky, and see what happens when we add birds.
The birds, on their own, do not create any type of illusion, however, when combined, our brain is able to perceive a smiling face.
In this next illusion, we see an image of a beautiful landscape, however, after some time, our brain may begin to perceive another image within.
There are countless examples of literal images.
For instance, can you see how this tree's limbs, make up a lion's face.
Or, in this facial image, can your brain perceive that it is comprised of hands.
All of these images are considered examples of literal illusions, however, there are other types of illusions, such as Physiological, and cognitive.
