Cardinal Health’s Monoject™ Sharps Safety team sat down with Dr. Amber Mitchell in this recorded interview to help simplify sharps safety while reducing opportunities for needlestick injuries. Dr. Amber Mitchell is the International Safety Center’s President and Executive Director and distributes the Exposure Prevention Information Network (EPINet®) to healthcare to measure occupational exposures to needlesticks, sharps injuries and other blood and body fluid exposures. Increased patient load combined with clinician burnout and severe supply chain disruption can erode the culture of safety for routine procedures, such as injections. Now, amid mass vaccination efforts, clinical leaders are faced with preventing needlestick injury while rapidly adapting to new products and processes that impact safety.
