Much like 'Dracula' a few years earlier, this film assembled a stellar cast, a visionary director, and a big production in order to attempt a definitive film version of a classic. And, also like 'Dracula', they secured the services of Polish composer Wojciech Kilar to add extra class to the end result. The film may not have been as well received as 'Dracula' was, but the music is top notch.

Starring Nicole Kidman, John Malkovich, Barbara Hershey, Mary-Louise Parker, Richard E. Grant, Shelley Duvall, Christian Bale, Viggo Mortensen and John Gielgud. Screenplay by Laura Jones, based on the novel by Henry James. Directed by Jane Campion, with an original score by Wojciech Kilar.
