Top Gun 3 is officially in development at Paramount, confirmed in January 2024. Ehren Kruger, co-writer of Top Gun: Maverick, is working on the script. Following the success of Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, and Glen Powell are set to return. Despite Tom Cruise's new partnership with Warner Bros., the third film will continue Maverick's story, focusing on his relationship with Penny to highlight his growth and stability. Maverick's arc from losing Charlie to finding redemption is expected to conclude in this upcoming installment.
