Lincoln Hall was one of Australia’s best known mountaineers. In 2006, he fulfilled a lifelong dream and reached the summit of Everest. As he began the long descent, altitude sickness overpowered him and he collapsed. After hours of trying to revive him, his Sherpa companions pronounced him dead and they were ordered by the expedition leader to descend. The next day, an American guide found Hall alive on the crest of the summit ridge. Hall’s eighth book, "Dead Lucky: Life After Death on Mount Everest," tells this remarkable story. In this rare interview Lincoln Hall and local climber and rescuer, Andrew Brash, meet for one of the first times in person since the accident. Greg Child masterfully helps them reweave the tale of that fateful day on Everest. Lincoln Hall died in 2012 at the age of 56 of a rare cancer called mesothelioma.
