Okay, there are scammers and then there are 'scammers'. This is what I call a smart scam. This guy on our approach to the Sphinx flashed us his green badge as if to suggest he works for the place, like an official of some sort and thought okay. Then talking very quickly before we knew it he was taking these ridiculous photos that we did not ask for or want. Then he talked about himself and started describing the Sphinx shortly after in a short history lesson. When I said we wanted to go on our own he said we must tip him $100 Egyptian pounds each!! and when we refused he got very upset. To avoid these kinds of scammers, unless you really want to listen to them and pay upwards of $200 EGP for 30 minutes of time then you cant look at them or say anything. Say no and walk away, do not engage at all or else even listening to the smallest suggestion they will demand a tip.
