Panama City Beach Councilman Hector Solis filed a bogus defamation lawsuit against me in March 2018 after I filed to run for City Council.
Solis dismissed the lawsuit in 2019 before we could depose the Department of Justice to ask why his so-called law-enforcement credentials do not include his name.
Solis would not verify that he was indeed a retired federal law enforcement officer, as he claimed during his 2016 campaign for office.
When I deposed Solis in September 2018, he admitted to being an electrician at a prison. He said that in the capacity of the Federal Bureau of Prisons that makes him a law enforcement officer.
Solis claims to have attended a three-week academy in the 1980s.
Employees retire with law enforcement provisions. But Solis misleads people by allowing them to think he was a sworn officer.
This would be like me claiming to be a scientist because I have a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.
