Before you freak out, re: options below. If you have a good smart phone, all you really need is a tripod & lighting! You don't have to get a bunch of super expensive equipment to start a channel.

If you're looking at Canons, be sure to get the model with the "i"--these are the ones that can handle an external mic output and have the best auto-focus for filming.
