6.25.23 | By Usman | MADISON SQUARE PARK, Manhattan- Members of the LGBTQ+ Community gathered and marched on Fifth Ave for the 53rd Annual NYC Pride March Sunday Afternoon which began at 11am starting from West 25th Street on Fifth Ave with the march passing by the Stonewall Monument in the Greenwich Village neighborhood that marks the 1969 Stonewall Riot a catalyst for LGBTQ+ Rights in the US. Parade Crowds and Marchers were celebrating the event however there has been concerns of a wave of Hate Crimes and a rollback of rights in the LGBTQ+ community especially in states like Florida which many in the community feel stifles their true expression of their identity. In attendance were public officials like NYC Mayor Eric Adams and NYS Governor Kathy Hochul who have expressed solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.
