Henry Arms Fine Damascus 12 gauge double barrel shotgun with exposed hammers, imported from Belgium around the 1890 to 1900 and is amazing that the weapon still functions. Equally amazing is that after 120 years not much has changed with firearms. Guessing that when modern smokeless powder shells become available the gun was used with them and caused excessive wear. Original shells would have been a much lower pressure load using black powder. The lock up has some play so a 0.002 inch copper shim is used to tighten up the action. Copper is a soft metal so it will not cause any damage to the existing metal
