Model-actor Poonam Pandey died due to cervical cancer on Friday at the age of 32. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer diagnosed in women in India and accounts for 10% of all cancers in women. In her budget speech Finance Minister also highlighted the fact that the government will be putting focus on providing vaccination to girls n the age group of 9-14 years. Dr Rama Joshi, who is the principal director of department of gynae oncology at Fortis hospital answers all the questions regarding this dreaded disease and also explains what women of different age group should do to protect themselves.
