The Sydney Metro West is a bold project, one that will significantly improve travel times between Parramatta and Sydney. But...the station gaps along the line are unusually big. The Bays to Five Dock is 4.5 kilometres, and Sydney Olympic Park to Parramatta is 7 kilometres. It’s left many confused. There are no plans for the suburbs of Lilyfield, Newington or Camellia, all suburbs the metro passes through, to get new stations. In this video, I'll explore why the government is building the Sydney Metro West, how densification and development prospects helped them choose their station locations, and assess their controversial decision to opt for time savings over more stations.
