Often, when doing landscape photography, the brightness range, or dynamic range, of some scenes is simply too extreme for the camera to handle, especially when photographing into the light like at sunset or sunrise. So in this case we often need to use ND Grad filters. But what if we don’t own any, or as in my case sometimes, don’t have them with me? Or, perhaps the areas of light or dark are scattered across your image and not simply between the sky and foreground. Then there is another technique known as exposure blending. This term can often sound a little daunting, but in many cases it can be quick and simple, especially when simply blending a sky and foreground. But even if the scene is more complicated we can use a specific technique to blend them easily.
My exposure blending tutorial shows you 2 easy ways to blend exposures in Photoshop. I show you two ways to blend exposures in Adobe Photoshop, one using the gradient tool and the other using the brush tool.
