The Botanical Gardens in Birmingham are an absolute must, particularly in autumn. They offer charming features dating back to Victorian times when the gardens were first designed by the Scotsman J.C. Loudon in 1832. I was surprised what a wonderful recluse the garden provided just a mile and a half away from the hustle and bustle of the second largest city in England. When I visited the gardens last week in late October the trees were aglow with muliticoloured leaves. Small wonder the gardens were teeming with photographers, Anna Rubato among them.
