Charted at #1 in 1930. The most popular record of the year. The Great Depression had just begun, but people wanted to believe good times were coming again soon so this optimistic song was a big hit. From the movie "Chasing Rainbows" starring Bessie Love, Charles King and Jack Benny. The movie is largely forgotten, but the song has lived on throughout the decades and become a standard. Franklin D. Roosevelt used it as his campaign theme song.
First recorded by Leo Reisman and His Orchestra in 1929. This Ben Selvin version was recorded February 3, 1930.
