Lems describes the Primal Pursuit as a cross between the Primal 2 and the Trailhead. If you own the Trailhead, but didn't like the slimmer toe box or the 4mm drop, these are the answer. If you have the Primal 2 but wish you could take it on longer and tougher adventures, these are the answer. We found these to be a decently rugged hiking shoe with minimalist characteristics, though probably not "barefoot" per se. The wide toe box, flexible sole, and zero drop platform make it a very comfortable hiker that even works as a decent trail runner. The bigger stack height does cause you to lose out on some ground feel, but we think that's a worthy sacrifice as it makes it easier to take these shoes on rougher and longer trails.
