The Cowboys began this season with a bad performance against Tom Brady’s Buccaneers. After the game, the Cowboys owner and General Manager Jerry Jones confirmed the worst, stating that Prescott would have to undergo surgery and he might be out for 6-8 weeks. However, he recently stated on 105.3 The Fan that the injury was not as bad as it looked and the quarterback will not be placed on the injury reserve list. Furthermore, he stated that Prescott will be out for only about four weeks and could return to NFL action as early as week 5. However, this is a very prosperous statement and any setback might push his recovery time backwards.

Cowboys won’t take any possibility completely off the table, but with Dak Prescott’s improved timeline, the team feels it can be patient.”
But can they really be patient? Dallas do have a replacement in QB Cooper Rush. Rush is the Cowboys’ backup quarterback. Rush had a good performance in week 8 last season against Minnesota Vikings and had 24 pass completions in 40 attempts for 325 yards and 2 touchdowns. In that game, he replaced Prescott who was out due to a calf strain. However, there are also doubts about whether he is capable enough to replace Dak Prescott. Especially the fans call for help from outside the Cowboys team. However, Stephen Jones just revealed who he sees as the ultimate replacement for Dak Prescott.
