Saints,
This video shows the work involved to replace the Jeep Cherokee XJ AW4's fitting (trans cooler/warmer line) that is located on the transmission, it will work for the front or rear fitting. It's very simple, but I could not find any video to ease my mind on this repair, so I made one. All you need is a crescent wrench or 8mm & 7/8" wrench and 8mm & 7/8" socket and a long extension and ratchet or breaker bar (which I call an extension in the video) like I used, you could optionally use some pliers to get the old plastic clip inside the fitting out, and help to push the new one in.
6/29/2023 Edit.. I still have not had any leaks, but was told on a XJ forum I did it wrong, supposedly there is supposed to be O ring, Spacer, 2nd O ring on the end of the line before you insert it into the fitting that threads into the trans. What I advice, is try the 2 O rings and spacer, if it won't go in, try less, 2 O rings no spacer, or just 1 O ring, as long as it is tight after it clips in, and then doesn't leak, does it hurt with less, I think not. I've got close to 40k on mine with 1 O ring, and it is still not leaking, I would just advice to having the additional parts handy if you were to need them in the future, it only takes 5 minutes to pop that clip out and add another additional O ring and spacer if it starts to leak.
Hope this over explained video helps.
God Bless,
