Pressure testing underhand knife defence.
Imagine being at this level after only a few intensive hours training looking at our basic knife defence protocols & how to make them work.
Edward had never really trained before his course & never done anything like this.
This is a clip of a quick recap & pressure test the morning after his first knife defence session.
Pretty amazing if you ask me.
This was live drilling with plenty of intent & resistance, I wanted him to struggle & I wanted it to get messy in order to make him work for everything.
How a pressure test should be!
He answered everything using what he learnt & passed with flying colours.
This was only his second time training knife defence.
For me at the beginning your attitude, adaptability & understanding of basic principles are more important than the techniques because techniques fail.
Especially at the start of your journey.
Once you get better so does your techniques but that only happens through training.
