Gum diseases in kids are not very common but if you notice that when your child is brushing their teeth there is some amount of bleeding, be it generalized or in specific regions, probably the child needs one round of professional treatment because somewhere the hygiene has been lacking. There is some amount of plaque accumulation that has happened under the gums which is now not getting cleaned with regular brushing. Another reason you might notice bleeding gums is when a new tooth is erupting and a portion of the tooth is covered with gums and there is food getting stuck under the gums.
