The first in-person citizenship ceremonies since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020 are taking place in Co Kerry today.
A total of 950 people are to be conferred with Irish citizenship at two separate ceremonies at the Gleneagle INEC Arena in Killarney presided over by Minister for Justice Helen McEntee, retired High Court Judge Bryan MacMahon and retired District Court Judge Paddy McMahon.
In total, 154 citizenship ceremonies have taken place since they were first introduced, with people from 180 countries receiving their certificate of naturalisation.
In just over a decade, 148,000 people have received Irish citizenship.
