...Source: [ Ссылка ] Transcript: Per InsideEVs, Chinese companies BYD and CATL are developing lithium iron phosphate batteries. These batteries can potentially recharge in just 10 minutes. They aim to debut these ultra-fast-charging batteries by the end of this year.
The new batteries feature a 6C charging rate. This means they charge six times faster than their capacity. For example, a 100-amp-hour battery can charge with a 600-amp current. However, charging infrastructure must be updated to support these speeds.
In China, Huawei launched 600 kW fast chargers earlier this year. Li Auto plans to install 5,000 5C-capable fast chargers by next year. Tesla’s Supercharger network in the U.S. currently provides up to 250 kW. Electrify America offers up to 350 kW, and Gravity Charging in New York goes up to 500 kW.
