Taking a look at what makes these vastly different engines so unique. As well as looking back on it's history at not only what makes the Dodge/Plymouth 170/190/225 slant six so amazing but also at the Ford 300 straight six and Chevy 292 inline 6. As well as performance enthusiasts like Doug Dutra and Jack Clifford ( 6=8 ) putting so much time and effort into making these inline six cylinders perform against the larger and more cylinder v8's. Also taking a look at the flat head inline six and the Fabulous Hudson Hornet, as well as The Satan of Morimar. This will be a direct comparison of a 1971 Plymouth Duster 225 inline slant six, and a 1973 Plymouth Duster 318 v8. Both Mopar, Chrysler A body vehicles, both with 904 or 727 torque flight or torqueflight automatic transmissions. This will hopefully help you make your decision on what engine you will choose for your vehicle. This first comparison is an acceleration test with an approximate 200-250 yard drag race. With many more upgrades and head to head comparisons to come.
