Adobe Lightroom is a great tool for sorting and editing your photos. But when it comes to regular tasks like how to resize a photo, it’s not always obvious. And that’s because Lightroom’s designed to be a non-destructive image editor. This means you never affect the original image and this includes resizing it.
The easiest way to resize an image in Lightroom has always been to Export it, which creates a new image file. This is the same advice whether you’re using early versions like Lightroom 3 or 4 or the latest version of Lightroom CC. When you use the Lightroom Export dialog you have a large choice of options to resize the new image.
In this short video tutorial, I demonstrate how easy it is to resize (upsize or downsize) your photos using the Lightroom Export feature. Enjoy the video and feel free to contact me if you’re having problems.
