Simulation using the FOCI-OpenIFS model.
OpenIFS 40r1: TL799L91 grid (~25km horizontal resolution)
NEMO v3.6/LIM2: ORCA05L46 (~50km) + VIKING10 L46 (~8km)
Model started from Levitus climatology in year 1900. The simulation in the video starts after 40 years, year 1940.
External forcing (solar constant, greenhouse-gas concentrations) are kept fixed at year-1850 levels, a so-called pre-industrial control.

Animation shows sea-surface temperature and sea-ice fraction from NEMO/LIM with 10m wind and total cloud cover from OpenIFS.
