DAVENPORT, Wash. — Several eastern and central Washington schools received bomb threats on Wednesday, according to the Whitman County Sheriff's Office.
Just after 11 a.m., over 30 school districts got a mass email, stating bombs were being hidden in their schools.
The Davenport School District evacuated the schools and called law enforcement, and a bomb dog from Fairchild later arrived. The district closed for the rest of Wednesday.
Several Whitman County schools also received these threats, causing law enforcement to respond to schools in Colfax, Endicott, St. John, Lamont, and Sprague.
If you have a child or know someone who has a child attending Davenport School District, you can pick them up at Trinity Lutheran Church (1101 1st Street, Davenport, Washington, 99122) and sign them out with their teacher.
If you are unable to get home to be with your kids, Davenport School Districts says call them and they can watch them until the end of the day.

Superintendent Chad Prewitt says they are taking this situation seriously, but believes it was a swatting hoax.
The Whitman County Sheriff's Office believes there is no active threat to schools or students.
Coulee City Middle School and rural Hartline students were released from school at 12:40 p.m.
