Survivors of the 2004 Asian tsunami have returned to the scene of the disaster, ten years after the deadly wave which swept inland from the Indian Ocean.
Among the poignant ceremonies to be held, families gathered to pray for their lost relatives in the small southern Indian town of Kanyakumari, in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile bereaved relatives from several European countries joined other tsunami survivors on a beach in southern Thailand.
