Just sharing with you what I've learned over the past few months when it comes to using a lavalier mic with the Canon M50. You will be able to hear the difference with and without using a lava mic. I'm just your everyday normal Canon M50 user learning and teaching myself the in's and out's of this camera.

In this video I will be using an affordable lavalier microphone from PowerDeWise which I purchased from Amazon. Definitely worth using if you plan to upload videos to YouTube regularly.
