Anaphylaxis can be life-threatening. It is a rare, but severe allergic reaction. Some triggers include peanuts, shellfish, bee stings and ant bites. Patients can have rashes, itchiness, vomiting, salivation, shortness of breath, face and airway swelling. Emergency treatment is necessary.
