James Kalm visits what some art pundits are predicting will be the next trendy art neighborhood in Manhattan, the “Flower District”. Fittingly, you are invited to join your hapless correspondent for a visit to Planthouse Gallery and a tour of “Dark Star”. This exhibition, curated by Raymond Foye, is a collection of works featuring a macro/micro view of the cosmos. Much of this work is obsessively detailed, and pays more that a cursory homage to the psychedelic and eccentric. Included in this exhibition are: Jordan Belson, Tamara Gonzales, Tom Kovachevich, Brian Lucas, Harry Smith, Charles Stein, Philip Taaffe and Sally Webster. This program was recorded April 7, 2016 in New York City.
