Anti-LGBTQ Bill Will Impose Cost on the State

The implementation of the anti-LGBTQ bill will impose a cost on the State, declared Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame. He stressed that there is "no doubt it will require a charge on the consolidated fund."

He cited examples supporting his argument, aligning with the plaintiff, Dr. Amanda Odoi's case. Dr. Odoi seeks an injunction on the Speaker of Parliament for not ensuring that a fiscal impact analysis was submitted with the 'Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, 2024,' and for presiding on the processes which she argues violates Article 108 of the Ghanaian constitution.
