If there is a fracture femur, then when is the time for playing sports. The fracture femur depends on where is the injury and what type of fixation has been used in healing the fracture. So whether it is proximal femur or distal femur, that has to be known whether internal fixation or just a conservative method has been used. That has to be known and then serial x-ray is showing completely has to be ascertained. Generally around 8 weeks, partial weight bearing will be allowed, 3 to 4 months the full weight bearing will be allowed, but then complete union is required before you start sports. That may be around 6 months.
