Dr. Sarah Hudson talks about the work being done under the Oceans Protection Plan to better understand how birds use the marine seascape and how we can better protect the marine environment.
Transcript
Hi. I’m Dr. Sarah Hudson, and I work with Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Under the Oceans Protection Plan, our goal is to increase our knowledge and awareness of how birds use the marine seascape.
We’re going to take advantage of collaborations between and across government departments
and with our First Nations partners to learn more about how birds use the marine environment, so that, in the event of an oil spill,
we can have fast-acting and in real-time data and knowledge about the risk to certain species in certain locations.
