On Sunday the 27th of September, I'm riding solo in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember.
Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that.
We are women who are riding each year for the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride to raise awareness and money to support all the men in our lives who are struggling with mental health issues and to encourage them to get regularly checked for prostate cancer before it is too late.
As each of us have men in our lives who we love. They are our fathers, our brothers, our partner, our friend, our sons, our nephews or our workmates. If they suffer from mental health issues or cancer we struggle with them as well as we can’t give the professional help they need.
Especially in a year like this with bushfires all over the country, followed by heavy floods and a current pandemic all around the world.
2020 is so far no doubt a very tough year for each of us. Many lost their jobs, their homes and are isolated for months.
Therefore, as women we want to let all the men in our lives know that we are always here to support them and want to encourage all men around the globe to speak out and seek help.
Please help us to raise as much money as we can so the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
Love,
Duey
