Double Layered Ribbon Trim Tutu Tutorial: Step by Step How I Make A Ribbon Trim Tutu

materials list...
*tulle on the bolt. Needs to be 54 in wide by how many yards you need for the size you are making.
*3/4 in non-roll elastic
*matching colored thread for your sewing machine
*1.5in single or double faced ribbon. Each color will need the same amount of yardage you cut your tulle to. example: you cut 10 yards of tulle you will need 10 yards of each colored ribbon.
*Hot glue gun and glue sticks
*sewing machine
*manikin is not necessary but makes it a lot easier.

Size chart:

0-6month...
8 yards of tulle cut to 8in long. Elastic cut to 14in.

6-12month...
8 yards of tulle cut to 10in long. Elastic cut to 16in.

18month-2T...
9 yards of tulle cut to 12in long. Elastic cut to 18in

3T-4T...
10 yards of tulle cut to 14in long. Elastic cut to 20in

5T-6...
12 yards of tulle cut to 16in long. Elastic cut to 21-22in.

For any size larger follow Pam's Measurement guideline... "For every inch of elastic you use you will use 1/2 a yard of tulle." Example if you need 24in of elastic you will use 12 yards of tulle.

For the length of the tutu you will need to measure how long you would like tutu to be then double that length because you will be folding the tulle in half. Example: if you want the tutu to be 10in long (measuring from the waist down the leg) you will need to cut the tulle at 20in.
