An eruption of Italy's Mount Etna created a volcanic storm that could be seen across the sky over Sicily. Researchers say the striking event is unusual and rare. Boris Behnke, a volcanologist with Italy's National Institute for Geophysics and Volcanology, told the Associated Press that volcanic storms are a rare phenomena that happen in particularly violent eruptions or when the erupting volcano is near water.
