A Heat Advisory is in effect for Charlotte and much of the area from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. Heat index values could be up to 105º. On this episode of #WakeUpCLT To Go, meteorologist Chris Mulcahy and forecaster Larry Sprinkle will explain just how hot the Charlotte metro will be this week and when things will return to normal in the Carolinas.
Expect highs near 98º Monday afternoon with heat index values of 105º and above across the Charlotte area. Temperatures and humidity levels will continue to rise on Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect heat index values near 107º on Tuesday, which meets the criteria for a heat advisory. These record-breaking temperatures will lead to dangerous conditions outdoors, and everyone should limit their time outside and stay hydrated when leaving their home.
This first wave of triple-digit heat should be taken seriously for anyone working or participating in outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
Highs are expected to remain in the mid-to-upper 90s through the next 7 days at least with more heat in the forecast for next week: [ Ссылка ]
