Membrane transporters are tractable but under-explored targets for drug intervention. Various SLC family members are genetically linked to diseases with unmet therapeutic need. Discovery of new small molecules by high-throughput screening is key for discovering potential new medicines. This presentation will focus on high-throughput screening strategies for electrogenic SLC transporters, including assay development for single-point screening and choosing appropriate orthogonal assays to qualify hits.
