A Drum Corps International rule change passed in the winter addressing the instrumentation allowed in drum corps competitions, has given composers and arrangers new voices and timbres to stretch their creative imaginations. Never before seen in DCI competitions until this summer have been a number of new brass instruments from concert baritones to French horns to trombones. Soloists from the Cavaliers, Cadets and Madison Scouts explain how the new instruments have been incorporated into their corps’ 2014 productions.
