A father broke down as he admitted that he was relieved to hear news of his young daughter's death at the hands of Hamas.
Thomas Hand said he smiled because "that was the best news of the possibilities".
Mr Hand said the alternative was that she would be held in Gaza and kept in a dark room with no food or water.
