OPEC+, 10월 하루 10만 배럴 감산 합의
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and several other major oil producers have agreed to cut oil production by 100-thousand barrels a day.
The decision by OPEC-plus was announced on Monday and reverses the approval of an oil production increase from last month.
100-thousand barrels per day makes up just 0.1-percent of the world's output, meaning the cut, slated for October, will have little practical implications. It is seen as a symbolic move to show that OPEC-plus intends to keep oil prices at roughly 100-dollars a barrel.
The group added that the production increase was only a temporary measure. Following the announcement, Brent crude futures for November went up 3.8-percent to reach 96-dollars-59 a barrel... and West Texas Intermediate crude increased 2.5-percent to 89-dollars.
