Why 4K-6K gold per week per alt (on average, results may vary) may make it worth running alts through the long alt-unfriendly 8.3 intro questline.

UPDATE: Starting in week 2 of 8.3, a bug or "feature" change has appeared that nerfs the gold from one of the minor assaults each week from most (week 2) /all (week 3) characters on an account. If this fix change remains a "feature" and is not reverted, it means 4000g vs 6000g per alt per week. BTW this nerf also affects alts going through the cloak/attunement questline; the minor assault you do during the questline is not giving gold anymore but the major (N'Zoth) assault does.

UPDATE UPDATE (Feb 8 2020): GMs (2) responded to me that gold is not always given from an assault cache and thus "things are working correctly", however they did not specify the loot rules as to when you get gold. Twitch goldmaking streamer QYune suggests that getting an item from an assault cache will replace the 2kg for that cache. This may now be true but in weeks 1 and 2 my alts did receive both gold and item from the same cache. If true this is a big nerf, as the items are BoP, seem to top out at 440 Rare, mostly are not corrupted and are mostly worthless by the time you get them. Especially the dozens of pairs of 440 bracers per alt LOL!

UPDATE to the UPDATE UPDATE (Feb 11 2020): it now appears that at most the N'Zoth assault cache will give 2k gold, and neither minor assault gives gold any more; but a stream just showed today's new Vail N'Zoth assault cache giving 0g. So either this is being nerfed to 0 week by week or results may vary wildly. So far the dailies still remain a source of 3500-4000 g per week per alt running them IF you do them every day.

Further UPDATE (Feb 11 2020 post reset): Just got 2k g for a minor assault! So go figure. Who knows the rules at this point. But lots of gold is possible. (Feb 12 2020): And another 2k from minor assault, that's 3 for 3 so far this week. Maybe is a bug that's fixed?
