Normally a lady whether she is having regular or irregular cycles not got her periods in her time for getting period then she should always check the urine for pregnancy. Even if the contact is protected by using condoms then also she should check because condoms are not 100 % safe. If she is using pills then it is a different issue. But lady with irregular periods not getting period in time even with protected intercourse should always rule out pregnancy as the first thing to do.
