Rooted in the greenery of Fatqa village, 6 Km from the Beirut - Tripoli Highway, House K is a private residence built through maximum integration with the surrounding environment. This 780 square meter plot of land is located at the end of a dead end alley and originally consisted of six planted terraces each 1 meter high.

The natural charm of this place, highlighted by its original local stone walls, was the main inspiration behind the architectural design. In this iteration, the project is articulated as a landscape extension of the existing topography through the reconstruction of these walls to inhabit and delimit it; two large concrete slabs were created to do the trick.

With the aim of completely eliminating architectural impact, the only signs of HOUSE K are two slabs with inverted beams in tiers; one serves as a garden in the main area while the other serves as a pool nest.

Its welcoming flow projects into the open space, where bedrooms, a study and adjacent service areas surround an inner terrace. This particularity of the traditional Lebanese central hall house gives us a new version of the classic typology.

On the upper level there is a main reception room and kitchen which connects to the rear yard on one side and the main garden on the other. This specificity and exposure ensures cross ventilation throughout the year.

Two cantilevered roofs, which are the hallmark of the project, form the contour of the two floors, separating the public from the private areas. Calculated thoroughly, they ensure good natural light in the sleeping area and control it upstairs.
