The SAMAYA 'NO SIESTA' BASECAMP is above all a high mountain adventure shared by several people, a source of exchanges and smiles. The expedition was an epic ascent, both in terms of logistics and physical effort. The 1,600-metre vertical drop and the eight-hour walk required the members of the expedition to be robust, patient and tenacious.
The term "No Siesta" is rich in meaning.
First of all, because it evokes this magnificent north face of the Jorasses. This route, opened in 1986 on the Croz spur, continues to make the greatest dream and is a perfect symbol of winter action.
Moreover, this name is a nod to the way Samaya imagines each of its products, as a link between contemplation and action. This practice of winter bivouac reflects the associated values that are so dear to Samaya.
With the promise of creating an exceptional moment, the SAMAYA 'NO SIESTA' BASECAMP has fully met its specifications by offering everyone the opportunity to live a unique experience of cohesion and conviviality.
Samaya would like to thank Symon Welfringer, Pierrick Fine, Julien "Pica" Herry, Jordi Noguere, Tom Livingstone & Christophe Dumarest for their participation to this event.
Additional thanks goes to Arc'teryx, Pajak, Jetboil, TSL Outdoor, Antoine Mesnage, Marc Daviet & Victor Saucède for their support.
